  2. Early Life • Born in May 29, 1961, in Leavenworth, Kansas. • She first started playing guitar when she was eight. • Melissa attended berklee Colledge of Music • After 3 semesters, She dropped out of colledge. • She then headed to L.A., hoping to find a career in music. commons.wikimedia.org

  3. road to fame • Etheridge was discovered by island records chief chris blackwell. • She then got a publishing deal writing songs for movies. • In 1985, Melissa sent her demo to OLivia Records. • Her demo was rejected, but that didn’t stop her! sharpseniors.com
