  5. What is VOIP & Data Bundle • VOIP & Data Bundle is Windstream’s flagship Voice over IP (VoIP) product offering. This is a dynamic bandwidth product. • VOIP & Data Bundle can provide local and long distance voice services, high speed internet access, and MPLS. • Voice services can be delivered as: • PRI • Analog trunks (via channel bank) • Combination of PRI and analog • SIP • VOIP and Data Bundle can be delivered via T1, Etherloop over Copper, and Ethernet • MPLS can be sold as an added feature to VOIP and Data Bundle

  6. What is Dynamic Bandwidth? • Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation, DBA, allows the interaction of voice and data on a circuit. • If voice is not being used the entire bandwidth is available for data • Voip and Data bundle supports configurations of Up to 100MB and 96 voice channels • Voice traffic always takes precedence over data traffic. • A voice call is converted to IP packets and silence suppression is enabled: • Voice calls in CLEC take 32k • Voice calls in ILEC take 80k • Fax, Modem, and Credit Card lines (ILEC and CLEC) require 80kbps • As voice calls are initiated, the voice packets take priority over data packets • Once a call is complete, the voice channel is immediately available for data bandwidth

  7. DBA Example – CLEC territory

  8. VOIP & Data Bundle Product Overview • VOIP & Data Bundle consists of two key elements • Transport. Up to 8 T1s or 12 Mbps per location • Up to 30 MB with Etherloop over Copper • Up to 100 MB with Ethernet (Select Markets) • Voice. Up to 24 voice calls, trunks, and/or PRI per T1 • Maximum of 96 voice calls per site • SIP Trunking available if using a certified PBX

  9. VOIP & Data Bundle Features • VOIP & Data Bundle includes the typical calling features needed • See next slide for details • VOIP & Data Bundlealso includes a Web Portal that allows users to manage numbers and call treatment on-line • The following features are available: • Call Log • Missed, Dialed, and Received Calls • Click to Call • Call Treatment • Find Me/Follow Me – In order • Forward All Calls – Customer Recovery • Domestic LD minutes can be added in 1000 minute increments. Un-used LD minutes rollover over before expiring in the 4th month. LD minutes used are a combination of outbound and inbound toll free. • VOIP and Data Bundle includes our extended local calling areas which is typically about twice the size of the ILEC in areas where Windstream is the CLEC

  10. Basic Features Package Free LD between VOIP & Data Bundle locations

  11. Out of Scope for VOIP & Data Bundle Who is not a good candidate for VOIP & Data Bundle? • More than 6 fax / modem lines per T1 • Fax only PRI • Auto-Dialers • Modem Banks or Heavy Modem Use

  12. T1 Bundle – Technical Overview • Channelized TDM T1(s) • - 24 fixed channels • - Each channel is 64k bandwidth or voice • Up to 10 T1 circuits • Voice • - Signaling available as • PRI or 2-way DID • Analog • Combination of the above • Data • 64 Kbps x # of Channels = Speed • Up to 12Mbps (up to 8 T1s can be bonded) • Dedicated & Symmetrical • Internet bandwidth or MPLS connectivity • Adtran CSU/DSU

  13. T1 Bundle – Product Overview • T1 Bundle includes • - Voice & data • - Free feature package • Standard calling features • 1,000 LD minutes • Web Hosting and Email • 20 DIDs • 5 standard voicemail boxes • Additional LD, DIDs, Voicemail boxes, and other • features may be added a la carte • Adtran Channel Bank with CSU/DSU

  14. MPLS Networking

  15. What is MPLS Networking? MPLS Networking is the product name for our MPLS product. MPLS Networking is sold on 25%-35% of our VOIP & Data Bundle orders. MPLS Networking is a wide area networking (WAN) solution --- connecting businesses with multiple locations, including Off Net MPLS Networking is a private, secure network built across Windstream’s core MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching) backbone using Layer 3 VPN technology MPLS Networking is a scalable solution meeting individual business needs through three levels of QOS (quality of service) Best Effort Business Critical Real Time

  16. MPLS Networking Within each QOS level, Windstream measures the following items and provides performance guarantees: Latency Jitter Packet Loss The performance guarantees within each QOS level are defined on the next slide The guaranteed performance levels measure Windstream’s core network equipment. MPLS Networking customers have the ability to view these performance levels real-time, via the web. Windstream also provides a comprehensive credit policy to cover any failure in meeting each performance level as stated in our Service Level Agreement MPLS Networking can be sold as an added feature to VOIP & Data Bundle and T1 Bundle

  17. MPLS Performance Guarantees • Latency – Measures the time it takes for IP packets to travel between points in the network. Customers will not experience an average one-way latency greater than the target for each QoS level • MPLS Networking Best Effort <55ms • MPLS Networking Business Critical <50ms • MPLS Networking Real Time <40ms • Jitter – Measures the difference in time it takes for two IP packets to travel between points in the network. Customers will not experience jitter greater than the target for each QoS level in a single calendar day • MPLS Networking Best Effort <10ms • MPLS Networking Business Critical <5ms • MPLS Networking Real Time <2ms • Packet Loss – Measures the number of IP packets dropped between points in the network. Customers will not experience sustained packet loss greater than the target for each QoS level in a single calendar day • MPLS Networking Best Effort <1% • MPLS Networking Business Critical <1% • MPLS Networking Real Time <.5% ms = milliseconds

  18. MPLS Networking - Flexibility • Fully meshed network with any-to-any connectivity, allowing regional sites to exchange data without consuming bandwidth at the host location • Change traffic patternsautomatically when their business needs change due to: • Natural disasters • New applications • Choose to access the Internet securely from one or multiple sites • Failover solutions allowing multiple hosts to be built

  19. MPLS Networking Off-NET: • Through strategic partnerships our MPLS Networking product is also available Off-NET providing an alternative to ‘costly’ long-haul loops • 80% of Sites must be On-Net • The same QOS levels still apply

  20. MPLS Networking Off-NET Voice Elements MPLS Networking Off-Net uses the same VoIP and Data Bundle voice platform • Supports analog lines, PRIs, and/or SIP • 24 voice lines per 1.5Mbps equivalent up to 96 lines Fax, Modem, Credit Card, Alarm, or Elevator lines are NOT supported
