Managing Your Candidacy • Register with NBPTS • Log on to www.nbpts.org • Click on “Candidate Center” • Click “Eligibility and Application” • Read “Guide to National Board Certification”PDF • Policies and procedures • Apply online - $65 non refundable application fee • Record the ID number assigned to you • Your “My Profile” will have all deadlines and fee information • E-mail Dessie Olson at dessie.olson@slcschools.org to let her know of your official candidacy, candidate #, & certification area.

Apply for possibleUSOE NB subsidy at http://www.schools.utah.gov/cert/National-Board-Certification/NB-New-Scholarship-Application.aspx • Fill out the application and return to Linda Alder’s office asap • If a subsidy is awarded, it will not be applied to your account until you register and pay the $500 non-refundable fee. 3. Apply for scholarship through NBPTS • “Fees and Financial Support” information is available through the “Eligibility and Application” link under “National Board Candidates” • Select “Scholarship” 4. Pay $500 nonrefundable initial assessment fee • Before September workshop if you want your sub to be paid by district • Scholarships and state subsidies are not applied until this fee is paid

  5. Managing Your Candidacy 5. “The Box” • Eligibility Verification Packet - submit asap or check for deadline on “My Profile”. • Check for accuracy of materials sent 6. Check your profile status regularly • Access your “My Profile” account through NBPTS homepage • Explore all tabs under “Candidate Center” • Keep track of fees, forms, deadlines, etc. • Check for updates and messages • Make updates to your personal information, special considerations • View your scores (fall of 2014)
