  2. When writing to advise remember you are trying to encourage the reader to do something or behave in a particular way • Organise ideas clearly • Use connectives that suggest rather than tell!

  3. You could use imperatives as well connectives but remember that advice is simply ideas to help not always a definite solution to the problem…..

  4. Use questions as connectives to help • Why don’t you? • Perhaps you could? • Maybe it would be an idea to? • Have you considered? • Have you thought about?

  5. Typical Question • Write an article to your local newspaper, advising readers how to cope if they lose their job.
