HISTORY • 1971 - Start of activity as a captive manufacturer of metal components for Zanussi, an Italian leading producer of household appliances • 1973 - Acquired and subsequently merged with the casting business of Zoppas, another Italian player in the household appliance market • 1984 - Zanussi Group is acquired by the Swedish Group Electrolux • 1987 - ZML is contributed to Electrolux Components Companies and undertakes business development outside the Group • 1993 - Acquisition of Gronda, a producer of copper wire, in nearby Aviano • 1995 - Diversification of the aluminum business into the automotive sector • 2001 - Electrolux decides to focus on core activities and earmarks ZML for disposal • 2002 - Acquisition completed by the management with Vestar Capital Partners
