  2. Geography • Palm Beach Gardens is located on the east side of the Peninsula that is Florida. It is the Easternmost town in Florida. It is located on a 16 mile long Barrier island. According to the Census Bureau Palm Beach has an area of 10.6 square miles of land, 3.9 miles of it is land and 6.5 miles of it is water.

  4. Peanut island • Peanut Island was a small island in Palm Beach that is small but used to have a very important job. The island has a bomb shelter for JFK on it. It is now a museum available to the public. Peanut Island is also a fun place to go and snorkel or camp on the weekends. People come by short ferry rides or they take their own boats.

  5. Henry fLaglerMusuem • The Henry Flagler Museum is a historical monument right in the heart of Palm Beach. Flagler opened a hotel and needed transportation so he brought the railroad down to the area his hotel was in. This railroad line eventually became the Florida East Coast Railway System. Today his mansion is a museum where you can take tours almost every day of the week.

  6. Jupiter lighthouse • The area where the lighthouse is now is named for the Hobe Indians. The mound that the lighthouse sits on now are the remains of the tribe with items including tools and pottery. The lighthouse was completed in 1860 and is made of brick. It is one of the most historic attractions in Palm Beach.

  7. The Breakers • The Breakers was first opened on January 16, 1896 as the Palm Beach Inn. It was opened by Henry Flagler. Today it is one of the most well known hotels in the country. The reason it is so famous is because it is historical like the elegant dining room and modern like the bar that’s an aquarium.

  8. Palm Beach polo grounds • The Palm Beach Polo Club was founded by John B. Goodman. It is now one of the biggest polo clubs in the country. It has 9 fields and a new stadium for polo, vaulting, dressage, and rodeos. The club has leagues for intermediates through professionals.

  9. Language • The main language of Palm Beach is English but many also speak Spanish.

Passenger traffic at Palm Beach International Airport totaled 6.8 million in 2006 Palm Beach County Leads the Nation in production of sugar and fresh sweet corn it produces 18 percent of all sugar in the country. The average temperature in the winter is 74 degrees and in the summer it is 90. The average rainfall is 62 inches per year Palm beach county is bigger than 2 states Rhode Island and Delaware.
