Sustainable WASH Interventions for Vulnerable Populations in Sudan

Reflections from the CHF 2014 Planning Workshop focusing on expanding access to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene services for vulnerable populations affected by conflict or disasters in Sudan. Goals include disaster preparedness, environmental impact mitigation, and building WASH capacity in high-risk areas. The CHF funding for WASH sectors, eligibility criteria, guidelines, and allocation process are discussed along with the incorporation of gender and environmental markers. The PRG formulation and interested organizations are also part of the strategic planning.

WASH Strategic Objectives for CHF • Sustain and expand access to Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene services for vulnerable populations affected by conflict or natural disaster in Sudan, ensuring mitigation of environmental impact • Strengthen disaster preparedness in Sudan by building the capacity of communities, government and partners to anticipate and respond to critical WASH needs interventions in areas of high risk (Core pipeline)
