  1. What to do if you have an accident with a cyclist? When a cyclist and a car collide, or even when a bike and a pedestrian collide, there is a chance that either party could be at fault, whether that is running a red light, failing to give way, or travelling recklessly near pedestrians. When you are involved in an accident with a cyclist it is advised that you seek medical help if required, and get the other party’s insurance details. While cyclists are not legally required to have insurance, some may, which may mean that they have third party cover. You should then consult the Highway Code to understand who was at fault. If you are injured from the collision, your next move should be to contact a personal injury specialist who can understand the situation and see if you have a viable claim for injuries sustained as well as any damages to the vehicle.
