(2 Peter 1:3)

  8. “Who We Need For Life” • That is our purpose! • To be godly…to become like Christ! • How do we become like Jesus? He was perfect! • When a person comes to Christ by faith and is born again…We are given His DNA.

  9. “Who We Need For Life” 4Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. (2 Peter 1:4)

  10. “Who We Need For Life” • What does that mean to us? • If we are God’s children…we have His nature within us. • He has given us everything we need to fulfill our God-given purpose in life…to be godly…to be like Him. • That means we are fulfilling our purpose in life.

  11. “Who We Need For Life” • How Do We Get There? How Do We Become Like Jesus? • Like anything else in life, there are steps that lead to a destination. • If we want to fulfill God’s purpose in our lives, WE must develop these qualities in our lives. • Our foundation is our faith in Christ. • Look at the seven steps…

  13. “Who We Need For Life” • “… And to perseverance, godliness” (2 Peter 1:6c) • “And to godliness, brotherly kindness…” (2 Peter 1:7a) • “…And to brotherly kindness, love.” (2 Peter 1:7b) 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. (John 15:12)

  14. “Who We Need For Life” Conclusion • Who do we need? • We need Christ • We need to come to Christ in faith and get His life for all eternity! • We need to fulfill God’s purpose for our life! • We need to become like Christ!

  15. “Who We Need For Life” • Why bother? 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:8)
