Mr. Schirle shows his helmet with the lights.
We had a chance to see the helmet up close!
It is important to wear clothing to protect yourself when you go caving.
Knee pads are important especially when you have to crawl and a plastic box to keep things dry is necessary.
Of course a backpack to carry things like extra lights, snacks, and maps is good to have.
Mr. Schirle then gave us a virtual tour of one of the caves he has explored.
We even did an experiment using limestone and vinegar!
We watched as the “acid” (vinegar) dissolved the stone!
We then took all the studying and reading and the visit from Mr. Schirle and did some projects!
Isn’t our “created” cave neat?
We also created an alphabet book about caves.
Come read our wall!
Just another way South Shores Super Stars work for their goals!
