Broadcast Services • Live meetings • Emergency broadcasts • Public service announcements • Cable channel promotion • Electronic message board • Equipment maintenance • Creates locally produced programming for telecast including: • “The City Show” • “Gainesville Presents” • Public service announcements

  4. Emergency Communications • Assists as city Public Information Officer in the event of an emergency • Assists with providing emergency information

  5. Communications Consultation • Chairs Communications Advisory Group • Chairs Website Committee • Provides assistance to departments and charter offices on request • Reviews/edits multiple department communication materials • Distributes materials to the media • Provides communication trainings to staff

  6. Special Projects • Website redesign • City Manager Special Projects as assigned, including: • Special events, ribbon-cuttings, press conferences, groundbreakings, etc. • Web pages on items impacting the community (Sustainability, Cabot/Koppers, etc.) • Presentations (budget, guest lecturer, etc.)

  7. Civic Education/Engagement • Citizens’ Academy • City Government Day • Educational displays • Annual photo contest

  8. External Communications • Publish Municipal Minutes (self-subscribe online), monthly e-newsletter, recipient of Savvy award from 3CMA • Press releases (self-subscribe online)

  9. Maintain front page, news pages, static information pages and department page on the city website Assist other depts. with content management Maintain social media websites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, etc.) External Communications

  10. Annual Citizens’ Report • 2006 was the first year the report was produced by the Communications Office • Report release coincides with the State of the City Address • Reports received awards from Florida Public Relations Association and the Government Finance Officers’ Association

  11. Maintain employee intranet Distribute CityLines to city employees on pressing information Publish City Manager’s Biweekly Report Internal Communications

  12. Received national and statewide honors from: 3CMA – National City and County Communications and Marketing Association National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors Government Finance Officers Association Florida Public Relations Association Florida Government Communicator’s Association Awards and Acknowledgement
