  2. DESCRIPTION OF SIESTA KEY • Siesta Key has three wonderful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, where you can play, relax, or walk along the water's edge. Enjoy the sunshine and tropical breeze while you track the flight of pelicans and shorebirds, and keep an eye out for the playful dolphins. Fishing, shelling, swimming, parasailing, boating, snorkeling - take your pick. Or just sit back and relax, enjoying the view.

  3. DINING

  4. CAFES Celebrating over 35 years as a Sarasota tradition, Café L'Europe continues to be one of Sarasota's most beautiful and popular restaurants.  Established in 1973 in John Ringling's original real estate office, and the oldest building on Saint Armand's Circle. The original brick walls, enhanced with featured artwork from the Café Collection, fresh flowers, archways, stained glass and Spanish terra cotta tiles provide a warm, relaxing old-world ambiance.  Café L'Europe features indoor and outdoor dining as well as private dining. BIJOU CAFE A fine dining experience at home among the arts. The Bijou Cafe is a Sarasota Original that has set the standard for fine dining in the heart of the Theatre District since 1986. 5. OCEAN SIDE DINING OPHELIA'S ON THE BAY SHARKY'S ON THE PIER Ophelia's on the Bay is Sarasota's finest waterfront restaurant now in it's 22nd season. The low profile of the building gives you eye-level views of Little Sarasota Bay framed by tropical vegetation, a water lily pond with a bronze fountain and flower gardens. It is Florida the way it should be, without glitz, just a grand view of an unfettered sweep of water, mangroves, seabirds, and an occasional boat or dolphin gliding by. Gulf view Dining in Sarasota, Florida - Sharky’s On The Pier is a Venice landmark. It not only sits smack dab on the Gulf in the Sharks Tooth Capital of the World, it also boasts amazing sunsets, gorgeous views, and the best seafood around! You don’t want to miss the delicious, tropical, frozen drinks, the grouper sandwiches, or the live music - all while sitting or dancing right on the Gulf of Mexico! That's right, waterfront dining in Sarasota, Florida.

  6. ATTRACTIONS

  7. SIESTA KEY BIKE AND KAYAK   Kayaking thru Siesta Key's Neville Wildlife Preserve will be an adventure you and your family will never forget.  Explore hidden lagoons, unspoiled beaches, see many species of Florida wildlife and maybe even spot a dolphin or manatee. Biking is a way to explore our island like no other.  From canopy trails to beach rides, there is no better way to see the Key.

  8. PARASAILING

  10. HOTELS Tropical Shores Beach Resort One of the more versatile places to stay. With over 67 units spread out over a neighborhood, you can pick where you want to spend your Siesta Key vacation. Tropical Breeze Resort Siesta Key It's only a 2 minute walk to its own private beach you share with 4 other small resorts! On top of that the price is reasonable. Siesta Key Holiday Inn Express The least expensive hotel I could find. It's nice, freshly remodeled, but not fancy. Downside, it's not on Siesta Key. It's about a mile off the island. Captiva Beach Resort Is a very clean, yet small, family owned and operated resort.  Anything this vacation spot lacks in updates, it more than makes-up for in charm.

  13. What I learned about Siesta Key is that the sand is as white and soft as baby power. When you get out of the water and you walk in the sand, it rubs right off you instead of sticking to you. I learned that if you want to dine, if you want to stay in a resort or hotel, if you want to have some fun, Siesta Key has got it all. What I Learned About Siesta Key
