  1. Why are there‘bleached’ patches in your underwear?

  2. Ugees: It is not uncommon to find your underwear bleached after getting them back from the laundry, this has a lot to do with the vaginal discharge and less to do with the laundry detergent. Thanks to the safe environment women and informed activists these days are trying to create for one another on social media platforms and through various other means that such ‘shush’ topics are often brazenly discussed nowadays.

  3. What isvaginal discharge? 1. It is a liquid that is produced by our cervix (the neck of the womb). Its main function is to keep a vagina clean and hydrated. The misinformed social viewon this has, since the beginning of time, been that vaginal discharge is unhygienic, gross, or abnormal but this myth has been debunked time and again by a lot of doctors and brands that are highly informed and progressive like Ugeesnow. 2. The natural pH value of a healthy vagina is supposed to be low which means that it is naturally acidic. The pH value is supposed to bebetween 3.8 to 4.5 and this is the actual reason why the discharge leaves an orange patch on the underwearwhen we wash it.

  4. A self-cleaningorgan Yes, the vagina is a self-cleaning organ! The vagina naturally has good bacteria and fungus in it, the good bacteria keep the fungus from overgrowing. However, sometimes it does overgrow depending on a lot of other factors like yeast infections, menstruation, menopause, etc. This results in the change of consistency of the vaginal discharge which in turn impacts the quality of your underwear because the vagina discharges these unhealthy elements from your body in order to keep itself safe andsecure.

  5. What can be done to prevent/treat thesepatches? • Although it is absolutely healthy, nobody wishes to ruin their underwear every now and then especially when they are your favorite ones. Here are some tips that would help. • Use a subtle lingerie washing detergent that kills the yeast in the laundry, like that of Ugees. This will be effective when the lingerie is washed before the discharge oxidizes due to being exposed to air andhumidity. • One may soak their underwear right after usage to preventoxidization. • There is also an option of panty liners that are easily available in the market. They prevent the discharge from staining yourunderwear.

  6. Conclusion Although this phenomenon is completely normal and healthy, this is still no reason why one should forsake the quality of their underwear. The above-mentioned solutions do not even take up much time or energy and so if you are really looking to save your underwear from the bleached patches then that is indeed possible.
