Commissioning for PatientsWhite Paper Refresh & Health Bill • White Paper Refresh : • Commissioning of maternity and paediatrics services • Regulations governing procurement activities - right of appeal to Monitor -powers to order a retender • Duty to involve other health professionals in commissioning decisions • Duty to promote improvements in primary care • Health Bill : • Consortia can be authorised from April 2012 • Scrutiny of commissioning decisions by H&WB Board • Compliance with legislation (as per PCTs) e.g. Equality Legislation • High Level criteria for authorisation
