School Pledge • I am capable of doing things of which I have never dreamed. • Today I will do my best to be the best. • I will listen. • I will follow directions. • I will be honest. • I will respect the rights of others. • I have value as a person. • I will learn, and I have a future worth working for.

  3. Smoke – Free Campus • As of August 1, 2008, PSRC went to smoke – free campuses. • Please remind parents that there is no smoking on campus during or after school hours.

  4. Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures • Drop off time is at 7:30 am under the breezeway. • Tardy bell rings at 7:55 am. If you come in after the tardy bell, go to the Main Office to sign in and get a pass for class. • Bus riders are dismissed at 2:50 pm and car/van riders are picked up at 2:55 pm.

  5. Student/Parent/Teacher Compact • Please read over the CMS compact with a parent tonight. • The compact should come back to me with parent and student signatures.

  6. Book Bags & Visitors • MUST be clear or mesh only • All visitors must sign in at the front desk • No students will be dismissed after 2:00pm

  7. Dress Code • NO sunglasses, hats, head scarves, or head covers • NO wrestlers who are not fully clothed, skulls, or gang symbols/members • Pants must be pulled up & belts must stay on • Shirt tails must be tucked in at ALL times! • Girls – no tank tops, halters, low cut tops, mini skirts. Sleeveless shirts are acceptable.

  8. Cafeteria Conduct • 1. No playing in line • 2. No taking food or drink out of the cafeteria • 3. No loud talking or playing around • 4. Students must remove all paper and dishes from the table after eating • 5. Be polite to those working for YOU in the cafeteria

  10. Required Annual Health Status Update

  11. Homework Policy • Teachers expect their students to spend about 1 hour on homework assignments each day. When projects or research assignments are given, students are expected to have that project in on time or early if they wish to receive feedback.

  12. Harassment Policy • Plain & Simple – Harassment is NOT tolerated • Review the harassment policy with your parents. If you have questions, let me know.

  13. MISSION STATEMENT: "We, the faculty, staff, parents and students of L. Gilbert Carroll Middle School, accept as our mission the commitment to assist all our students in their development toward becoming responsible global citizens by providing a secure environment that fosters superior academic, social, emotional, physical and technological growth.
