SEMINAR Quality Management of Rehab ServicesOuagadougou, June 11-15, 2012 Mr Rowan ENGLISH, Head of Department, National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia Rowan has been involved in Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O) for more than 30 years. He has had leading roles in the, development, delivery, management and review of clinical (P&O) and rehabilitation services in rural, regional and remote environments in Australia and internationally.  He has developed and managed Prosthetics and Orthotics, Allied Health and rehabilitation services.  He has also been instrumental in the redevelopment of Australia’s only P&O educational program at La Trobe University. His roles have encompassed the provision of clinical P&O services in Australia and overseas, health service management, strategic and change management in health and education, and provision of education and operational management in education. He has had a significant impact in the development of the profession of P&O in Australia and is a past national president of the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Australia National Member Society. In his current role as Head of Department at the National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics (NCPO), Rowan leads a team of dedicated staff in research and educational programs for domestic and international students. The NCPO developed and ran an international distance education program for SE Asian based students and Rowan also collaborated in an investigation and review of efficacy of education in SE Asia and continues collaboration with international agencies in countries including Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Japan.
