Avantis Registry SettingsRegistry Search • Avantis Client ‘copies’ many settings locally (HKCU) when launched • For most Avantis registry settings, the application will look locally then global • HKCU • HKLM • Global.ini • Environ.ini • Avantis client only requires environment key to run HKCU | Software | Marcam | Database | Asset Management Client | Environment

Avantis Registry SettingsUseful Classic Registry Settings • AllVertextDesc (string) Location: • HKLM | Software | Marcam | Asset Management Middle Tier | Cabinet Description: • This setting suppresses or shows all data members for an object, including those for which no description has been created. In practice, this key must be changed to "1“ in the middle tier setting to allow for the expansion of the browse tree. Values: • 0 - Suppresses data members • 1 - Shows all data members

Avantis Registry SettingsUseful Classic Registry Settings • Error_Handling (string) Location: • HKLM | Software | Marcam | Common | Diagnostics Description: • This setting allows you to define whether the user can continue when a Failed Assert error occurs. Failed Assert errors are non-fatal errors that can occur when you are running Avantis. Although you can continue, Avantis cannot guarantee the integrity of your data. We strongly recommend that you do not use the "TERMINATE“ option. The value must always be entered in uppercase. Values: • ALLOW_CONTINUE | ALWAYS_CONTINUE | TERMINATE Needs to be manually created

Avantis Registry SettingsUseful Classic Registry Settings • LogSize (string) Location: • HKLM | Software | Marcam | Common | Diagnostics Description: • This setting allows you to define the maximum size of the zederr.log until the file is cleared. By default, the value is "50" kilobytes. You can adjust the value by entering the numeric portion of the size. Values: • Any size in kilobytes Needs to be manually created

The log file indentified contains information filed by such functions as ZedScope and ZedTrace. Values: • Requires path Needs to be manually created

Disabling this setting will increase the launch time of Avantis. Values: • 0 - Suppresses Avantis splash screen • 1 - Suppresses Avantis splash screen Installed with default value of 1

Values: • Enter value in minutes Installed with default value of 15

Values: • 0 - Disables shutdown of Avantis • 1 - Enables shutdown of Avantis Installed with default value of 0

Values: • Number of records to be displayed Installed with default value of 6000

If disabled, this may cause the client to believe Avantis is still working when it is fact not responding. Values: • 0 – Disables ‘Not Responding’ dialog • 1 – Enables ‘Not Responding’ dialog Installed with default value of 1

Values: • 0 - Disables display of Object ID • 1 - Enables display of Object ID Not installed by default

Values: • 0 - Disables MTP startup on launch • 1 - Enables MTP startup on launch Not installed default value is 0

This is required for use with Windows 2003 SP1 servers. Values: • 0 – Disables DCOM • 1 – Enables DCOM Microsoft Service Patches have been known to disable remote access
