    6. Characteristics of God’s Rest… Available to us today (4:1, 7) For the “people of God” (4:9) Tied to our obedience (4:6, 11) We are to be diligent to enter into it (4:11)

Jeremiah 6:16 “Thus says the Lord, ‘Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls.’ But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’” Philippians 2:13 “for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”

    9. 1 Thessalonians 4:18 “Therefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.” Hebrews 10:24 “and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”

His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God's Word. We can't get away from it—no matter what.”

    18. Psalm 95:1-7 O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

    19. For the Lord is a great God And a great King above all gods, In whose hand are the depths of the earth, The peaks of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for it was He who made it, And His hands formed the dry land.

    20. Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.
