  1. Language and reality • The relation between language and word depends upon the fact that the simplest element of each are directly linked • But which means a simple element? • Table when I say what I mean?:leg of a table, a table top, the color of a table, a desk drawer? • For Russell the simplest element of language is the demonstrative pronouns 'This' and 'that' and the atoms of the world are 'sense data'.

  2. Object • But then a name is never an object, but different objects:leg of a table, a table top, the color of a table, a desk drawer? • No, I mean when I say 'table', rather than an object or an image of it. • We can then to understand why Wittgenstein says in the Tractatus-Logico-Philosophicus "Objects are simple 2:02."

  3. Misinterpretations • The word "this" is unclear: it might say: pencil, point, pointed, graphite, wood, hard, okra, etc. • It becomes clear precisely why we say: pencil

  4. the word is an image • Certainly the image of the table and the word "table" does not seem to have nothing in common. But the word "table" acts as an image, so much so that it accords with leg, top, drawer, so how the image set up other immagines. Better, because we do not know where to place the image of color ocher

  5. Object and word • They are all in some sense one (4.014 Sie sind alle in gewissen Sinne Eins) • As in a fairy tale two warriors are represented by their horse and their shield. • So '"table" is comfortable with "leg" and "top” • Confortable?

  6. The hieroglyphic • 4.016 To understand the essence of the proposition, we think of the hieroglyphic writing, which depicts the facts it describes • And it was from the alphabet without losing the essence of the figure • Um das Wesen des Satzes zu verstehen, denken wir an die Hieroglyphenschrift, welche die Tatsachen die sie beschreibt abbildet • Und aus ihr wurde die Buchstabenschrift, ohne das Wesentliche der Abbildung zu verlieren

  7. Object and word • They are all in a certain sense one (4.014Sie sind alle in gewissem Sinne Eins). • Why the word "leg" matches the word "table" • As the table leg fits at the table

  8. Matches, fits • So '"table" fits with "leg" .
