  1. Mega Fluids Corrosion Control Program For water based drilling fluids

  2. Overview • Our corrosion program is an effective, flexible protection system against corrosion from water based fluids. We use a dual chemical system which is administered by automated pumps. Our program can be individually fitted to the need of each individual well site. Corrosion coupons are collected periodically from each well site to verify corrosion rates. Each coupon is professionally tested to ensure accuracy. Results from tests are then applied to adjust treatment at the well site.

  3. Process • We deliver bulk totes to each location. Electromagnetic pumps are attached to each tote. Lines are run from the pumps into the mud tanks. The corrosion chemicals are added directly to the mud at a metered rate. Our field engineers ensure a safe and efficient set up for our equipment. After set up, field engineers are assigned to the well sites to ensure consistency in the treatment program, and to make adjustments as needed.

  4. Our Equipment We use electromagnetic pumps to administer our products. These pumps can be programmed to administer precise amounts of product as needed. All pumps and related equipment are maintained regularly by our field engineers to ensure quality and safety.

  5. Our Products Our program uses a two chemical system to maximize effectiveness. Oxygen Scavenger- Ammonium bi-sulfite oxygen scavenger is used to eliminate oxygen present in the drilling fluids to eliminate the greatest component of corrosion- oxidation. Without oxygen, corrosive properties of many common corrosion engines are greatly reduced. Corrosion Inhibitor- Our corrosion Inhibitor composed of a four chemical make-up to combat all forms of corrosion. The main component is a filming amine corrosion inhibitor which coats and protects the drill pipe. The second is a phosphate dispersant package, which is used to combat pipe scaling problems. It also contains additional stabilizers for the amines, and additional scavenger properties for oxygen, and H2S.

  6. Our Testing Corrosion rings are routinely collected from every active drill site. Each ring is professionally tested by McCord Testing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The results are then compared with previous results so adjustments can be made to maximize each treatment plan. All reports are delivered promptly and shared with all necessary well personel.

  7. On Site Setup We will install our automated corrosion system on your location to any preference or need. The corrosion product is pumped from our storage containers directly into the mud flow, to maximize protection. Our field engineers will install our setup within all specific guidelines and safety procedures. Our engineers also do regular checks on location for equipment condition, product levels, retrieving corrosion rings, and to address any issues that might arise.

  8. Flexibility Our corrosion program is flexible and can be arranged to fit any needs. For hazmat issues, we offer containment solutions. For treatment options we can offer alternatives such as supplementing pumps system with additional application methods. We can facilitate any other special arrangements needed by your company.
