3. Definition • 商号（Trade Names）被称为字号、厂商名称、企业名称等。 • 简单的商号只包含商业名称的核心部分，或与其商标相同。 • Canon Inc. 佳能公司（日本） • Canon既是公司商号也用作商标； • Procter & Gamble（P&G）宝洁公司（美国） • P&G是宝洁公司两位创始人William Procter 和James Gamble姓氏中的第一个字母组成。

8. Classification • 商务英语中，“公司”一词有多种表达，美国常用corporation，缩略为corp.，多指股份有限公司，英国常用company，缩略为co.，英国股份有限公司还常用public limited company，缩略为PLC.或plc.。

14. Translation • 商号的译名应该准确、简洁且富于美感。译名的音、字应当固定，避免出现同一公司不同名的现象。译名应选择富于褒义或美好吉祥的词语，尽量做到易记、易上口、易于识别和传播。若读者一见商号的译名就能联想到商品或厂商本身，效果更佳。
