  2. #1 Moisture Is Important If it has very little moisture, it won’t stay together in the bath bomb mix. If it has too much moisture, the bath bomb will never come out of the mold. Your saving grace here is a spray bottle packed with Witch Hazel. Mix up the formula for the bath blast. Try squeezing some into a ball together. It’s nice to start bringing it into the molds if it holds without shattering. Spritz the paste of witch hazel if it crumbles, blends, and try again until it stays together. #2 Include Additives What is the safest way to have herbs, flower petals, or other additives included? There are two choices to contain these ingredients in your bath bombs. The first choice is to actually apply it to the bath bomb combination, the simplest and fastest. The second choice is to first sprinkle a small amount into the bath bomb’s mold, then apply the mixture to the scoop. This will put the additive on top of the bath bomb. #3 Pack Lightly I wanted to fill the mold halves with the first couple of bath bombs, like packing a brown sugar cup to roast. For a variety of reasons, this didn’t work. It was hard to get half of the mold to join. It was almost hard to pull the bomb out of the molds in one piece before I could get them to join.

Make sure to sit for a minute or two until you remove them to dry for bath bombs prepared in metal molds. Unlike silicone molds, you allow the bath bombs to dry before setting. #5 Start Over Any Time It is easy to get irritated. It seems so straightforward, and the ingredients are fundamental, and yet so much can go wrong. Load it back into the bowl and start again if the molds don’t hold together. Dig it out and pour it back into the bowl if the paste is too sticky and it sticks to the mold. For a while, let it dry and start again. Though it seems hard, once you get the hang of it, they are very easy to mold.
