  3. Kaplan • DAT Test Prep class schedules are now finalized. Please go into the Kaplan office on the Tempe Campus or contact Elizabeth Jeffrey, the campus manager for more information: elizabeth.jeffrey@kaplan.com • ASU Kaplan Center • Lower level Memorial Union • Open Monday – Friday | 9:00 am- 3:00pm • (480) 967-0794 • Members who have paid dues for the year get a$200discount off Kaplan courses and their name in a raffle for a FREE Kaplan Course!

ASDOH Health Career Fair • A.T. Still University's Arizona Campus on Saturday, October 27 at 10:30 am. • The Fair will include a tour of the campus, program/admissions information and meet faculty/current students (duration: 2 hours, 30 minutes). • Reserve your seat now (seats are limited)!  RSVP by October 24 to (480)219-6028 or AZAdmissions@atsu.eduOF INTEREST AND NUMBER OF GUESTS • Event starts promptly at 10:30 am, so arrive a few minutes early to register and receive program materials.

  5. Volunteer Opportunities For the Pre-Dental Student

  6. Why Volunteer? • Volunteering is something that dental schools are going to be looking for! Make sure that you are continuouslyengaging yourself in the community by volunteering. • ALSO, volunteering is a way to give back to those less fortunate than yourself. Not only will you be making a true difference in your community, you will be able to better appreciate all that you have! • FINALLY, volunteering is an awesome way to make new friends or to get to know the students in the Dental Club. Try arranging to meet other members at the same event so you get your hours done while having fun!

Partnership with KHS • The Kinesiology Honor Society has asked us to join them in these volunteer opportunities:  • Pats Run: April 20, 2013.   • Warrior Dash • WiL Power is an organization dedicated to reducing the prevalence of childhood obesity, and the health problems that come with being overweight. Maggie’s Place • Maggie’s Place is a home in Phoenix that provides living quarters, food, and assistance to pregnant women wishing to achieve their goals and welcome their babies into a happy environment. • Volunteer duties vary depending on what the House needs at that time. In the past, babysitting, house-cleaning, and cooking have all been performed. • In order to volunteer, you must fill out a volunteer form located on their website, www.maggiesplace.org • You can also call or e-mail their Volunteer Coordinator Alli: • 480-491-0446 • tempe.volunteers@maggiesplace.org

St. Mary’s Food Bank • St. Mary’s Food Bank is a non-profit organization with the mission of easing hunger in Arizona. • This is a wonderful opportunity to get volunteers hours done! • Jobs include sorting, boxing, and bagging food, as well as completing administrative and fundraising support. • If interested, visit their website volunteer.services@firstfoodbank.orgOR call at 602-242-FOOD

Murphy Dental Clinic • The Murphy Dental Clinic is in need of volunteers at their kids’ dental clinic. • Meet Dr. Volcheck, who runs the CASS Dental Clinic for the Homeless • Great way to log volunteer hours as well as gaining valuable experience inside a dental clinic serving underprivileged people. • If interested, visit the website: www.cassdentalclinic.org

  11. Saint Vincent de Paul • Saint Vincent de Paul is a non-profit organization committed to serving the poor. They often do this by providing meals to the homeless. • Saint Vincent de Paul is searching for Family Evening Meal Lead Coordinators for this fall! • Mondays and every other Wednesday from 3:30 to 6:30 at the Phoenix Saint Vincent location (I-17 and 7th Avenue). This is a great leadership opportunity to add to a resume • Email vanessa.hernandez.2@asu.edu if you are interested in leading. • If you’re not interested in being a Coordinator, you can still help out! Regular volunteers are also needed to work from 4 to 6 any night of the week.

Become an Alternative Spring Break Leader • Take part in this exciting opportunity to combine service and leadership!  • Changemaker Central will be coordinating three Alternative Spring Break programs in the Spring 2013 semester and is looking for students to participate in a year-long program that will train Alternative Break Leaders.  Program participants will assist in planning the trip, recruiting volunteers, and managing trip logistics.  • Email volunteer@asu.edu  to obtain an application with further information.
