Ko‘olau Mountains Watershed Partnership (KMWP) • Encompasses nearly 100,000 acres of land in the mauka portions of the Ko‘olau Range • Estimated sustained yield of 135 billion gallons per year for Oahu • Economists found that the Ko'olau Watershed have a net present value of 7.5 to 14 BILLION DOLLARS!

  6. In total, the Ko‘olau Mountains Watershed retains only 54 percent, or approximately 53,000 acres of its original vegetation Oahu’s Native Forests… … thought to be the best ecosystem for capturing and storing water.
