The Gigabyte Lifestyle • 4G is becoming real – many deployment commitments for 2010 and 2011. • Significant growth of mobile bandwidth utilization. • Live mobile video is becoming a reality. • Machine to machine communications will demand more resources from wireless networks. • Over the top players are gaining more leverage. • Mobile operators are loosing “clout” to smartphone vendors, app vendors and content providers.

  4. Challenges to Network Operators • Significant investment in 4G networks. Will they attain an attractive ROI? • The FCC is mulling new net neutrality regulation. • New 4G devices will be open => difficult to differentiate with the end device. • They have become the “seamless” enabler of applications. Blamed when things go wrong. Invisible when things go right. • With 3rd party vendors delivering value add services, how can they differentiate and continue to increase ARPU?
