  2. The Trip – General Info • When: June 13-17, 2015 • Performance Date at Carnegie Hall: June 15, 2015 • Depart Des Moines on June 13 via Air Travel • Hotel in mid-town Manhattan – 4 nights

  3. The Vocal Side • Participating in MCP Encore Choral Festival • Will join other choirs from around the country with guest conductor • Including 3 combined rehearsals as part of the schedule • Performance will include second performance of our commissioned work by Ola Gjeilo (Premiere will be in Des Moines, June 9)

  4. The Orchestra Side Provide orchestral accompaniment t0 the Ola Gjeilo Commissioned work • Will have a 15 min set as part of the Carnegie Hall concert under the direction of Mr. Peters and Ms. Senger • May Include a clinic with NY Philharmonic musician (TBD) • Tour of Avery Fischer Hall and/or Juilliard

  5. Excursionswillinclude some of the following • Metropolitan Museum of Art • Museum of Modern Art • American Museum of Natural History • NBC Today show or CBS This morning – outside audience • Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Tours • Walking Tour of Central Park • Tickets to one Broadway Show • World Trade Center Memorial/Museum

Costs • Tour Cost - $1850 • Includes Airfare, Hotel, Festival Fees, Two Dinners, Broadway Show, CityPASS for entrance to attractions • Deposit - $200 due June 30, 2014 ($100 non-refundable) • 5 Payments due • Sept. 1 - $300 (non-refundable) • Oct. 1 - $300 • Nov. 1 - $300 • Feb. 1 - $300 • March 1 - $450 or balance owed after fundraising

  7. Trip Insurance • Trip insurance to cover costs of the trip can be purchased from several online companies. A FEW of them are listed below: • http://www.travelguard.com/ • http://www.allianztravelinsurance.com/ • http://www.travelinsured.com/ When shopping for Travel Insurance, use the TOTAL cost of the trip (not just airline, for example)

  8. Chaperones • We will need PLENTY of Chaperone Help to make this trip a success • For 200 students we will need 25 Chaperones to keep our Student/Chaperone ratio at 8:1. • Chaperones will be housed in doubles (students in quads)

  9. NEXT STEPS • 1. INDICATE YOUR INTEREST IN ATTENDING BY COMPLETING FORM AND SENDING IN YOUR $200 DEPOSIT; • 2. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HELPING WITH FUNDRAISING TO HELP LOWER THE COST, PLEASE LET THE DIRECTORS KNOW; • 3. VOCAL PARTICIPANTS SHOULD PAY ALL DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS TO THE VOCAL TREASURER • 4. ORCHESTRA PARTICIPANTS SHOULD PAY ALL DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS TO THE ORCHESTRA TREASURER
