  2. Recruiting Goal • Increase BYU students awareness of opportunities in the HR field through Purdue’s Masters of Science in Human Resources Management (MSHRM) • Recruit 2-5 BYU Undergraduate students for the MSHRM class of 2013

Method • YPurdue blog • Communicate with students about opportunities at Purdue and answer questions about graduate school and the field of Human Resources • Career Services • Use this powerpoint, YPurdue blog, and myself as resources to assist students interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources.

  4. YPurdue • Allow students to go straight to a graduate program and onto the “fast track” in their career. • Similar cost to BYU • Great recruiting opportunities • Strong LDS community

  5. The Fast Track • Get full-time offers similar to students who have years of work experience • Receive a competitive salary early on in career • Typical salary range is $65,000 to $85,000 + signing bonus • Younger students have more mobility which is essential for top companies and top rotational programs

  6. Low BYU Cost • Scholarship availability for at least 1/3 of students • $6000 tuition per semester • $700 stipend per month for 10 hours of assistantship • Low cost of living • 2 bedroom 1 ½ bath apartment for 550/month (15 minutes from school) • Government housing option on bus route

  7. Recruiting Opportunity • Full-time offers made this year ( as of Dec 10’) • Dell, GE, Proctor and Gamble, Cummins, Ingersoll Rand, Shell, Amazon, Bank of America, Whirlpool • 2011 Internship offers made this year ( as of Dec 10’) • Dell, GE, Proctor and Gamble, Cummins, Ingersoll Rand, Shell, Eaton, HP, Marathon

Strong LDS Community • LDS Students are generally top academic performers • LDS student gov’t president and other student gov’t positions are held by LDS members • Strong families from various graduate programs. Newlyweds, young children, and primary age children. • Great fellowship from students and community
