  6. IEP Form I-7 • Reflect addition of new assessments • Separate I-7 form for each assessment • Reflect the language of each assessment • Stress unique policies for individual assessments

  7. IEP Considerations • Assessment accommodations and supports should be reflective of day-to-day instructional practice. • There is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Decisions need to be made on an individual basis. • Changes/additions/deletions of accommodations and supports in an IEP can be made if necessary.

Universal Tools: Embedded • Breaks • Calculator (for calculator allowed items) • Digital notepad for taking notes (item specific) • Expandable passages (take up more of the screen) • Global notes (to be used on multiple items) • Highlighter • Mark for review • Math tools (protractor, ruler, etc.) • Spell check (does not give correct spelling) • Strikethrough (to eliminate items) • Writing tools (bold, italic) • Zoom *Does not include ELL items

  25. Designated Supports • Designated supports for the Smarter Balanced assessments are those features that are available for use by any student for whom the need has been indicated by an educator (or team of educators with parent/guardian and student).
