Received by HMRC 3rd April 2014 • Rejected due to incorrect number of Responsible People being named • June 2014 ~ Re-submitted application • John Makowski Authorised Representative • Paul Saunders, Ian Lovett and Gary Davies as Responsible Persons • 15th August 2014 ~HMRC advised application on hold • Trading from Non-Sporting Activities appears high ~ £123,000!!!!! • On hold due to changes in CASC Regulations expected April 2015 • 30th April / 22nd May 2015 ~ HMRC advised application now being re-assessed • Club to reply to HMRC W/C 14th June 2915 • Expected decision by Mid July.

Eton Manor RFC AGM 13th June 2015 CASC Update ~ Changes • Annual membership fees capped at £520 p.a. • Or provide special provisions for people on low incomes • Maximum annual membership £1,612 p.a. • Payments to players allowed up to a maximum of £10,000 p.a. • Reasonable travel and subsistence expenses (i.e. away games) • A minimum of 50% of members must be “PARTICIPATING” members • Unlimited income from Members • Turnover form Non-Members Limited to a MAXIMUM of £100,000 • £50,000 Trading Income from Non-Members ~ Exemption from Corporation Tax • £30,000 Rental Income form Non-Members ~ Exemption form Corporation Tax

Eton Manor RFC AGM 13th June 2015 CASC Update ~ Benefits Vs Costs Benefits • 80% mandatory rate relief (possibly 100% subject to local authority) • Personal Gift Aid ~ Tax clamed back by the club • Corporate Gift Aid ~ Tax claimed back by the company • Corporation tax exemption limits (£100K - T/£50K - I/£30K - R) • Possible migration to full charity status • Claim back business rate tax relief from date of submission? Costs • Extensive record keeping Members Vs Non-Members register and income • HMRC Audits • Issue around Life Members and VP’s • No turning back

Eton Manor RFC AGM 13th June 2015 • Resolutions ~ Charity Account for CASC Affordability & Inclusion (Going back to our routes) • We were a Charity…………we would not be here otherwise! • If we become a CASC ~ we are again a charity! • Charity begins at home • Set up a charitable fund to help a few kids enjoy all that Eton Manor has to offer ……………..complete the circle • Proposition • £2 per member per year plus sales of a few items (Arm Bands & Events) • Gift Aid tax relief might be possible • Club Kit and Boots • Half Term Camps • Tours Run by a Sub-Committee ~ with strict guidelines (tbc)
