  1. THE COMPONENTS OF A TRUCK AC AC Truck AC components work in harmony with the truck air conditioner, ensuring a comfortable and controlled climate inside the cabin, particularly during hot weather. This infographic gives you a general idea of all the essential AC components and their functions. TRUCK 1 COMPRESSOR The truck ac compressor is the heart of the air conditioning system. It is responsible for pressurizing and circulating the refrigerant gas (usually R134a) throughout the system. It is typically belt-driven by the engine. 2 CONDENSER The truck ac condenser is located at the front of the vehicle, often in front of the radiator. It releases heat from the high-pressure, high- temperature refrigerant gas, causing it to condense into a high-pressure liquid. 3 EVAPORATOR The ac evaporator is located inside the truck's cabin, usually under the dashboard. It cools and dehumidifies the air by allowing the liquid refrigerant to evaporate, absorbing heat from the surrounding air. 4 EXPANSION VALVE AC expansion valve or orifice tube regulates the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator. It controls the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant as it enters the evaporator, which is critical for efficient cooling. 5 RECEIVER-DRIER AC receiver drier serves as a reservoir for the refrigerant and also contains a desiccant to remove moisture from the system. In trucks, you'll often find a receiver-drier, which is typically used in systems that use expansion valves. 6 AC FITTINGS AC fittings include various connectors, adapters, and couplings that ensure a secure and sealed connection between different components of the air conditioning system.
