MY SECOND LIFE • At first when the teacher told us we were going to have a virtual class, and it was going to be on second life, I was kind of skeptical, coz I have always seen massively multiplayer online role-playing games as geeky games, and people who plays them have no life. Like playing wow, I hate wow haha. • Anyways, I installed the program, created my avatar, and it was it. My avatar’s name is Mon Bueller. I decided to go with Mon Bueller, coz Mon is the short way of saying Mónica and Bueller is the last name of a character of a movie that I like a lot ( Ferris Bueller’s day off). • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vltUWa_tOhE
Who’s Mon Bueller? • Here’s my avatar. I choose it coz I thought it was the best of all avatars. I didn’t change it because I was struggling with the clothing, so I decided to leave it that and maybe in other session I would change it. • Then on Monday we went to SC and for my surprise I was having fun, I was picking instructions really fast and I could move wherever I wanted. I even helped my partners and brought them back on the platform Before we started, we were supposed to read the tutorial, which i did, and that’s probably one of the reasons I knew where to be and who I was with for the quest in every station. After practicing with Annes and running over people, it was time to go to our station. I was kind of mad coz my group wasn’t even there ( at the station), but after we were assigned new groups I was good to go.
THE ENDING • After doing all the quests, I was happy coz I made it through and I was good at it. The class was a little messy at first but at the end it was all good. I liked it and I would like to do another class in SC.
