  3. What is a swamp • A wetland is an habitat that is half way between land and water environments, with features of both types.

  4. Water in Swamps • Swamps get water from the sea, lakes and rivers. • Their water is either fresh water or Salt water. • Swamps have shallow water, but sometimes have high water when it floods. • Swamps are warm wet areas. • In the wet season swamps have higher water than the dry

  5. Where does Swamp Water go • Coastal swamp water goes to the beach’s. • When swamps are near to rivers there water goes to rivers.

  6. Is Swamp water Stable • It depends on the swamp if the water is stable • Coastal swamp water drains quickly cause there near beaches.

Animals • Alligator, American Crocodile, Anaconda, Bald Eagle, Beaver, Black Bear, Bobcat, Capybara, Common Egret, Cougar, Crane, Crayfish, Downy Woodpecker, Dragonfly, Earthworm, Fish, Flamingo, Fly, frog, Great blue heron, great Egret, Mosquito, Muskrat, Newt, Pond Skater or Water Spider, Raccoon, Red tailed hawk, Red wolf, river otter, scorpion, shrimp, snail, Snapping turtle, spider, toad, white tailed deer, zooplankton AND MANY MORE.

  8. Swamps Animal Needs • The animals need lots of water and food • The animals would DIE if the swamps were empty

  10. Famous Swamps • The Great Dismal Swamp is in the U.S.A southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina • Arafura Swamp
