  2. Workshop Steps • Form TWO GROUPS - (Director and Elect not in the same group); each group to have a leader, a scribe • Groups charged to come up with a road map for a Division symposium . Symposium is about one year away Guidelines for PLANNING “Division Symposium” 1- A symposium planned for February 2009 in Houston, Chicago, Philadelphia, or Montreal (Each Group to select one location, and a date of the two day event, assume an expected attendance of 200-300) 2- Theme… Each GROUP to select the theme 3- Each Group NEEDs to come up with a) hotel search, contract, schedule; b) technical program schedule- committee recruitment, sessions identification, author recruitment, paper collection, paper review, final program input etc; c) Food and A/V arrangement schedule; d) Funding resources and expense flow, in sync with registration and bill payments; e) Beak even criteria, deadlines and cancellation penalties; f) Publication and publicity schedules 4- Each group will independently go over their planning steps ……brainstorming, discussion and final plan and prepare line charts showing deadlines and flags 5- Last 5 minutes, Both groups present their findings FACILITATORS WILL SUPPORT EACH GROUP IN PROVIDING EXPERT ADVICE AS NEEDED
