If you are interested in presenting,   please contact Richard Kavanagh (Richard.Kavanagh@nhs.net) 11:00 HL7 UK: Extraordinary General Meeting (to appoint a Chair-Elect) 11:15 Tea & Coffee 11:40 CDA Forum: Implementing Use of Templates • Overview of the DHID template library and related resources (Richard Kavanagh & team) • Change management using templates, for implementers (panel discussion) 13:00 Lunch 13:30 HL7 UK Technical Committee • Living well with multiple standards and SDOs, and managing changes over standards' lifecycles.  A practical view from international work, mainly with Pharmacy content (Hugh Glover) • Benefits gained from conveying structured information into CDA.  For the NHS in England using CDA for discharges and out-patient reports is a real benefit over other available options even if content is unstructured - but let's not lose sight of the bigger prize of conveying structures information. CDA Implementation Methods • A series of topics being discussed over a number of different sessions : • Implementation Feedback • Presentations from recent CDA developers at the HL7/DHID meeting on December 4th • GreenCDA – WebEx to be scheduled (November/December) • GreenCDA is an implementation method for creating CDA by using a simpler XML schema and then using a transform to create the full “on the wire” CDA XML before transmission • OpenSource – WebEx to be scheduled (November/December) • CDAAPI is an Open Source project on github.com for creating CDA documents based on published profiles by CFH. The project is based on C# for a Microsoft technology stack. • Other OpenSource projects are being sought and separate sessions will be hosted for any others that allow the creation of NHS CDA profiles. Sending CDA Documents • Currently the ITK supports sending CDA documents using Web Services or DTS. • Separate WebEx sessions will be hosted to cover of these transport choices : • Sending CDA using Web Services – WebEx to be scheduled ( Late November ) • Services included within the ITK • WSDL files • Distribution Envelope • Security • Sending CDA using DTS – WebEx to be scheduled ( Late November ) • Registering for DTS • DTS costs and volumes • Distribution Envelope

ISCF Update • Multiple applications have been successful in the ISCF process that propose to use CDA. • These include : • Numerous uses of the “Non Coded CDA Profile” • Multiple “Discharge Summary Profile” implementations • Multiple “PHMR Profile” implementations • Many examples using structured text as opposed to embedded documents • Examples using coded entries as well as structured text • We will be working with the implementers to get fuller details of technical approaches and feedback during the ISCF process.
