  3. Open Admissions – Basic Qualifications • Application • GED/HSED or HS Graduate • Core Requirements or remedial classes • Test Scores – ACT/SAT or Compass • Interview?

  4. Rolling (The Lion’s Share) • HS Graduate (some GED/HSED) Core Requirements Class Rank • Test Scores ACT or SAT Possible SAT: Subject Tests or AP scores

  5. Rolling (con’t) • Special Talents/Circumstances Athletic Arts (fine/performing) (audition/portfolio) Legacy Racial/Gender/”Underrepresented” Low Income Immigrant/Refugee

  6. Rolling (yet again) • Colleges with rolling admissions may be selective or more “general” in admissions standards. (UW-Madison & La Crosse vs. UW- Parkside or Colleges) • Specific Programs or Majors may have specific admission standards. (UWRF El. Ed., UMTC Carlson School, UWSP Biology)

  7. Rolling (il fin) • Meeting Minimums does not guarantee admission!

  8. Pool • HS Graduate Class Rank, Strength of Schedule, Strength of Class, HS Reputation • Test Scores ACT or SAT + AP, IB, SAT: Subject Tests

  9. Pool (con’t) • Essay • Recommendations • Interview/Audition • Special Talents/Circumstances • Potpourri

  10. Pool Process • Early Decision (Binding and non-Binding) • Regular Decision
