  28. Accessing ISAR Click on “ISAR login.”

  29. Logging into ISAR Each SAC director has a user name and password (which can be shared with staff who will be helping to update information). If you need to know yours, contact meat kmaline@jrsa.org.

  30. To Search in ISAR Click here to search the Infobase.

  31. Searching ISAR You can use a key word or choose a BJS SJS Theme from the last fifteen years. You can search on one SAC or all of them.

  32. Search Results Because I logged in as South Carolina, I have rights to go into SC’s activity and publication, and revise it right from this results page. You can check boxes of titles that interest you and see abstracts about these activities.

  33. Adding New Activities and Publications to ISAR All new activities must be entered in ISAR (BJS made this a special condition of the SJS grant), but submitting publication information is optional. Existing activities can be revised at any time. Periodically, JRSA staff will initiate a systemwideupdate during which all SACs will be reminded to review and revise the information from their state.

  34. Adding a New Activity The information in the top of the form is populated from information about the SAC and staff that you control in ISAR through the Maintenance Function. The rest of the form is about the new activity.

  35. SAC Skills and Characteristics/Maintenance Menu A variety of information about the SACs, including location in state government, relationship with other agencies, access to data, and information system responsibility, is available in the SAC Skills and Characteristics section. It also lists SAC skills, which helps JRSA identify who among the SACs might be able to provide technical assistance or instruction in specific areas of expertise. SAC directors and staff can revise this information using the Maintenance Functions.
