Andaman and Nicobar is an island group comprising 572 small and large islands, in which only a few islands are inhabited. The capital of Andaman And Nicobar Islands Port Blair lies to the south of Bay of Bengal in Indian Ocean.

  4. The history of Andaman and Nicobar Islands remains a mystery till date. No one knows when and how the first inhabitants of the island arrived. But it is said that in 1789 the British established their colony in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Left the island in 1796 from the British. Then the British again started controlling the Andaman Islands in the 19th century.

Located approximately 135 km northeast of Port Blair, this small island has a 1.6 km wide pit partially filled with a sind cone or ash cone that has been the source of eruptions since it was recorded in 1787. • Commercial fishing is banned in Andaman. It is a place on earth where fishes have the opportunity to complete their lives. • The two islands in Andaman are quite famous. Havelock and Neil Island. Both these islands are named after two officers of the East India Company.
