  1. Waterislife: Outdoor ecology in the Black Forest PART II

  2. Baiersbronn: summer

  3. Baiersbronn: winter

  4. Outdoor ecology:river Murg • Without human influence most bodies of water would be oligotrophic (mineral nutrient-poor) • Through human influence, vast amounts of nitrogen compounds and phosphates can pass into open water resources

  5. Agriculture is the main source as fertilisers can be washed into lakes and rivers by the surface water • The effect of this mineral supply is eutrophication

  6. Outdoor ecology in a body of standing water • We took water samples from different places by using sample bottles

  7. Methods We analysed the water with regard to: pH nitrites nitrates carbonate hardness water hardness

  8. Results (average)

  9. Conclusion • We analysed the water during the last weeks (winter) • The water conditions seem to be allright The water quality of our Black Forest valley seems to be acceptable

  10. Waterislife: Outdoor ecology in the Black Forest PART II Thank you very much for your attention. Daniel Walz Supervisor: Dr. P. Menke
