  1. Beautiful Cities in Afghanistan Afghanistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is a landlocked country in Asia. Afghanistan is bordered by Pakistan to the east and south; Iran to the west .It is a large and mountainous, although mainly rural, country. This means that there are only few major cities in the country, and these are widely spaced apart. Kabul is the capital and largest and best city in Afghanistan, and is located along the Kabul River south of the Hindu Kush mountain range. Kabul is the only city in Afghanistan with a population in excess of a million, and it is now one of the fastest growing cities in the world. It is a historically blended country, at the crossroads of multiple peoples and cultures, from the Silk Road to the Soviet invasion.

  2. List of Cities of Afghanistan: 1.Kabul Kabul is the capital of Afghanistan and one of the highest capitals in the world, with an elevation of 1,790 metres. Kabul is known for its gardens, bazaars, and palaces. It was also formerly a mecca for young western hippies. The largest urban centre in the country and also its political and economic hub. The Rahman Mosque is fairly new, having been inaugurated in 2012, but it is built in traditional islamic architectural style, with 14 domes and two minarets. 2. Kandahar Alexander the Great founded the city of Alexandria Arachosia in 329 BC, on the place of what today is known as Kandahar. Kandahar or Qandahar is a city located in Afghanistan, with a population of about 557,118.

  3. Kandahar is located in the south of the country on the Arghandab River, at an elevation of 1,010 m. One of the most interesting places to see in Kandahar is the Friday Mosque of Kandahar, a holy Islamic place of worship considered of utmost importance in the country. 3. Bamiyan

  4. Bāmyān, town located in central Afghanistan. It lies about 80 miles (130 km) northwest of Kabul, the country’s capital, in the Bamiyan valley, at an elevation of 8,495 feet (2,590 metres). Two enormous figures of the Buddha were created there in the 4th and 5th centuries; the larger was 175 feet (53 metres) high, and the smaller was 120 feet (about 40 metres). Another culturally rich place, at the crossroads of East and West, Bamiyan’s archeology reveals a mix of Turkish, Greek, Persian, Indian and Chinese influence. 4. Faizabad Located on the northeast part of Afghanistan, Faizabad was historically remote due to bad road connections, which has helped to its local culture intact. It serves as the provincial capital and largest city of Badakhshan Province. Fayzabad is the main commercial and administrative center of the Pamir region.
