  1. Community Centres

  2. Council-managed centres • Wollongong City Council has a range of facilities for hire and these include Wollongong's community halls and centres. • If you're interested in hiring one of local councils venues, it's worth noting many of the groups don't have a paid worker and so to make a time to visit the facility, you might have to leave a phone message and wait for someone to get back to you. • When you visit the centre, be sure to ask about the hire conditions, the application form, fees and charges and key pick-up arrangements. Other questions you might want to think about include access for people with a disability, kitchen facilities and audio visual equipment.

  5. Works on our roads, bridges, footpaths, cycle ways, stormwater drainage, parks, sportsgrounds and Council owned buildings • Council manages and maintains over $2 billion of infrastructure assets in the local government area. This includes roads, bridges, footpaths, cycle ways, stormwater drainage, parks, sports fields and Council-owned buildings. • Like all local government authorities around Australia, local council face a major challenge in keeping up with the replacement, renewal and maintenance of our city’s ageing infrastructure. To help address this issue, local council are providing additional funding and resources on infrastructure works. We have a long term priority program which sets out the works scheduled, subject to available funding.
