  2. Andy Warhol • Born August 6th, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania • Graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology • Famous American painter, printmaker, and filmmaker • Leading figure of the Visual Arts Movement

  3. Commercial Art (1949-1961) • Career in magazine illustration and advertising • Whimsical ink drawings for shoe advertisements • Expanded to album covers and promotional materials • Glamour magazine and Columbia records

  4. Fine art (1962-1967) • Also know as Pop Art • Imitates methods, styles, and themes of popular culture and mass media that is reflected in comic strips, advertising, and science fiction • Aspects of everyday American life
