Some expressions used to ask about someone's Health: • What is wrong with you? Ifeel sick /awful. I‘m ill /I’m not feeling well. • What do you complain of? I have ….. • How are you now .Are you getting better ? I feel greet .Thanks for asking . • How is your health ? • Are you healthy?
Some of common diseases and their symptomsː ColdRunny nose ,Teary eyes ,sneezing Coughing, and headache The Flu Bad cold with fever . asthmaCoughing , and shortness of breath Stomachache cramps , vomiting , nausea , and diarrhea . Toothache cavity , and sensitive teeth . Allergy itching .skin redness. Heart attack Chest pain ,high blood pressure
Expressions used in hospitals or health clinics : • I want to take an appointment with the doctor/ with the dentist . • This is an emergency ! • How many times should I take this medicine? • I want to have a blood and urine test . • I am bleeding ,I need help ! • I have severe/great/ awful /sharp pain .
Role Play Activities • 1 – A calls the hospital to take an appointment with the doctor . B is the receptionist who asks him about his name , age , phone number , and her ID card number . • .
2-A is a patient who has a health problem . B is a doctor who asks A about the symptoms of his illness.
3- A is a daughter who is complaining to her mother from cramps and stomachache .B is her mother who gives her some advices and home remedies to ease the pain .
4-A is a patient who is complaining from being obese and overweight .B is a nutritionist who gives him some advices to lose weight
