RSS: Really Simple Syndication • A push technology based on XML. • Also known as Web Feed, Feed, Channel. • Used to broadcast frequent updates automatically to the subscribers of the feed. • It is commonly used to catch up with blogs, news headlines, audio & video. • Software to read the feeds are called aggregators or readers. Webcast • Simply said it is the broadcast of videos online. • It uses streaming media technology over the internet to broadcast any live event happening anywhere around the world. • It provides specialized features like pausing, recording and displaying explanatory text. • ICAI webcasts some of its programs on its portal.
