  3. Quantities and weight • 300 concrete blocks with max weight of 1250kg • 30 steelbeams (1,6mx200x200), with max weith 500kg • 635 concrete bricks of 18 kg each • Hundreds of steel bricks to close the open whole Caterina Bertone - 2/10/2012

  4. Pure dismantling • Mounting technique and tools no longer authorised: needs for studies and tooling: 50kCHF • Consider 1 month for wallremoval + time needed to mount and dismountlines to arrive to the wall: ~50kCHF for manpower Caterina Bertone - 2/10/2012

  5. From PS All yousee in the phots needs to beremoved Caterina Bertone - 2/10/2012

  6. From PS Way to go: all to bedismantled Caterina Bertone - 2/10/2012

  7. From PS: machines in and blocks out Caterina Bertone - 2/10/2012

  8. Summary of evacuation by thisway • Dismantling of the whole zone + up to PS machine • Dismantling of 1-2 PS unit to passinto the inside of the ring and a part of LBS line • Reinforcement of slabunder the PS units and along the path (to bechecked) to passwithheavymachines+blocks • Full reinforcement of the slabfromevacuationdoor and innerside of PS ring atthis position • Unknowns about ground situation • Extra long patch and need for handling means (loco + trailer+forkliftsetc) Caterina Bertone - 2/10/2012

  12. And away… Caterina Bertone - 2/10/2012

  13. Summary of evacuation by thisway • Dismantling of the whole line up to PBS machine • Reinforcement of slabunderalong the path (10 m?) to passwithheavymachines+blocks • Short patch and limitedneed for handling means • More activated zone? Caterina Bertone - 2/10/2012

  14. Open questions and short conclusions • Activation of blocks? • Permanence of operators in ‘hot zones’ like PSB injection region? • Reinstallation of the wallafter CE? • Sol 1 prevent future exchange of magnets in the zone (no more transport zone), Sol 2 and seemdifficult to realise to lift the dump up and keep in place. Sol 4 needs installation of a crane in the vault up to the zone to allow future handling of the 2 lines (fromwhere do we insert the dump?) • Evacuation from PSB sideisclearly the preferredchoise • It is possible and we are waiting more infos fromyourside Caterina Bertone - 2/10/2012
