  1. What Is A Multi Tool And What Can You Use It For?

  2. A multi tool is an incredibly useful device that combines a number of different functions into one handy tool. Versatile and convenient, the multi-purpose tool gives the user the opportunity to perform more than one task without having to swap between tools, and can be used for sawing, cutting and sanding while carrying out any number of home improvements, installations and repairs. How does a multi-tool work? With an attachment that includes saw blades of varying shapes and sizes, discs for grinding, and pads for sanding, the multi-tool moves the attachment at a high speed to give users precise control without a lot of vibration; helping to keep them safe while using it.

  3. What can a multi-tool be used for? As you may already have guessed from its name, this particular tool is capable of performing a variety of different functions, such as: Internal trim cutting – cutting with surgical precision can be carried out by the user on such surfaces as walls or baseboards, for example Undercutting of doorjamb – this tool helps the user to cut door jambs and trim them to give a wider surface area for new flooring to be installed. Many users find it convenient to use a multi-tool as opposed to a circular saw for this kind of task.

  4. Flush cutting – thanks to the multi-tools’ blade which is offset shaped, flush cutting is made easy. Installing and modifying cabinets – with an advanced blade capable of cutting slots, squares or notches quickly and precisely, users of the multi-tool are able to install or modify such things as dishwashers and sinks. Repairing old windows – windows can be made more energy efficient with the help of a multi-tool to repair their old frames. With the ability to sand, cut slots, strip and remove old layers of paint and so on, a multi-tool makes short work of a task like this.

  5. Installing plank flooring – thinner plank flooring is notoriously difficult to install, but with the help of a multi-tool, it’s made relatively easy. Prepping surfaces for paint – helping you to smooth any rough wood from corners, sand wood filler down, smooth jagged edges of paint that have been scraped, and plane surfaces, the multi-tool is exceptionally useful for painting tasks around the home. Making cut-outs in drywall – with a bi-metal or carbide grit blade on a multi-tool, cut-outs in drywall can be made quickly and efficiently thanks to its ability to withstand a drywall nail or screws impact.

  6. Caulk and thin-set removal – an accessory blade for smooth scraping can be added to the multi-tool to help the user quickly and easily remove caulk from the corners of surfaces. And, with carbide grit grinding pads on the tool, thin-set mortar can be removed from tiles. Removing rust from metals – available with a fine pad accessory, the multi-tool sander makes short work of rust-removal from a variety of metals.

  7. As you have read, multi-tools are extremely useful for a range of home improvement projects, and can prevent you from having to go and kit yourself out with a lot of tools, the cost of which can quickly mount up. Add to that all of the space they take up in your home or workshop, and investing in a multi-tool makes a lot of sense for the humble DIYer.
