  1. Safety Tips While Using Compressed Air Tools Introduction: Compressed air is one of the popular sources of energy in today's work environment. It can power a wide variety of tools and equipment as well as large machines. Compressed air tools are considered safer than electrical tools and other industrial equipment. However, you have to be careful while using them because if you use air tools wrong, you have to go through severe consequences. Just like electricity, air tools can be deadly if not treated with respect and used correctly. Safety Tips While Using Compressed Air Tools: A professional mechanic or operator needs to learn appropriate safety standards and go through proper training before using a compressed air tool. You should always check OSHA's safety rules ( occupational safety and health administration) and ensure that you act accordingly. These are some safety tips that you should follow. Read The Instructions Carefully: The manufacturer's manual is the first thing you should carefully read before using compressed air tools because it will provide you with tool-specific information on how to use, handle, and maintain your tool. Protect Yourself With Proper PPE: Personal protective equipment will protect you against health and safety risks while working in your garage. The purpose of this equipment is to reduce safety risks to acceptable levels. When you are working with air tools, there is a possibility that small particles of metal or wood will fly into the air, which may result in shooting these particles into your eyes. That's why you have to wear safety goggles and other PPE equipment before using compressed air tools. Pre-Operation Checking:

  2. You need to check your compressed air tools thoroughly before every use because it will reduce any major accident threats while working. For instance, if your dog cuts the air hose when you are not in your garage, and you start working without checking it, it could result in significant air leakage and cause severe damage. Therefore, you should develop the habit of checking your compressed air tools before using them. Handle Air Hoses Properly: Air hoses are another thing that you should take care of. Always try to use quality air hoses and fit them with the correct diameter. We recommend you to use air hoses that come with minimum working pressure ratings of 1035KPa and try not to run the tool above the pressure ratings. However, if an air hose blows out, then hold the hose tightly and try to keep it away from yourself and others. Last but not least, do not try to carry an air tool with its hose. Cut Off From Air Supply When Not in Use: As a professional mechanic, you should always disconnect your tools from the air supply when you are finished working for the day or taking a break. This will prevents accidents while you are trying to relax. These are some safety tips that you should follow when working with compressed air tools. However, you should always read the manual first to understand the model's features and specifications because every compressed air tool is different. Therefore, auto repair shop owners need to understand the model.
