Advance at Brown: Academic Transformation for Women in Science & Engineering

The ADVANCE Program at Brown aims to increase gender representation in academic science and engineering by funding innovative programs. The initiative supports formal faculty development and resources to foster success and leadership in academia. Results show the impact of mentoring, grant assistance, and travel funds on job satisfaction. Programs include career development, mentoring, and faculty leadership initiatives, offering career development awards and research opportunities. The Research Opportunities Coordinator assists in securing federal funding, while faculty mentoring and leadership programs aim to cultivate scientific leadership. Other issues addressed include work/life balance and faculty development support. Deadline for Career Development Awards is April 16th. Learn more at the ADVANCE Office, Metcalf.
