  3. Provision Mapping The purpose of provisionmapping is to provide an inclusive curriculum

  4. A Provision is: • In order to ensure all young people are included we usually need to make available activities additional to, or different from, the usual Curriculum. • These are the ‘Provisions’ we wish to map

  5. Activity 1: Provisions 10-15mins • Get into little Groups • In your Group, take turns to: • say “Hi” • Tell folk your ‘name’ and ‘school’ • Elect a scribe • Write a ‘Group list’ of Provisions (5 mins?)

  6. Provisions are typically grouped in Waves

  7. Waves model and‘additional to or different from’ Wave 1 Inclusive quality first teaching for all Wave 2 Additional interventions to enable children to work at age related expectations or above Wave 3 Additional highly personalised interventions 3.11

  8. Activity 2: Provisions to Waves • 5-10mins • Now Groups…… • group your Provisions into Waves

  9. A Provision Mapping System should… • Link provision to individuals • Identify additional/different provision for the whole school • Calculate Provision costs • Record individual pupil targets and outcomes • Evaluate all your Provisions

Real / potential benefits 1 • Supports schools to provide evidence for aspects of the New Ofsted Inspection • Plan systematically how best to use the school’s resources to meet children’s needs i.e. Value For Money • Organise provision clearly • Target support effectively and efficiently • Track provisions over time

Real / potential benefits 2 • Quicklyreport provision information for: Annual Reviews, AEN, SpLD, PSPs etc • Cost provision and manage the budget effectively • Prevent over-provision in some classes and under-provision in others • Provide clear and transparent information for LEA monitoring eg AEN Funding • Evaluate your provision, and building this into the SEF/SIP
