  2. Solve the following problems using any of the methods we have learned so far • 8x4 • =32 • 8x11 • =88 • 8x7 • =56 • 8x2 • =16

  3. Using other multiplication tables to help you multiply bigger multiplication sentences Charley is planting a garden of flowers in his backyard. He places the flowers in 8 rows with 11 flowers in each row. How many flowers did he plant in all? Using an array: • break down the multiplication sentence of 8x11 into (4x11)+(4x11) • Hint: when you break down the multiplication sentence, you only break down the 1st factor and use the 2nd factor as what you have to multiply by • Make two 4x11 arrays and add both of the products together

  4. Using other multiplication tables to help you multiply bigger multiplication sentences Laura bought 5 packages of different colored headbands. Each package contains 8 headbands. How many headbands did she buy in all? Using repeated addition: • Break down the multiplication sentence of 5x8 into two repeated addition problems (2x8)+ (3x8) • 2x8 = (8+8) =16 • 3x8 = (8+8+8) =24 • Add both of the answers together: 16+24 = 40
