  7. Burn First Aid • 1. Stop the burning process • 2. Cool the burn with tap water for 10 minutes, then reassess • DO NOT use exposed ice-may cause skin damage • DO NOT apply ointments which may hold in heat • 3. Cover with sterile bandage or clean, dry cloth
